On November 15, 2020, at approximately 7:46 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian that occurred on C Street north of Fifth Street. Officers determined that a 2014 Cadillac ATS sedan struck a 30-year-old male of Oxnard. The driver of the Cadillac remained at the scene and provided information regarding the collision.
Traffic investigators responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Based on the initial investigation, it was determined that the pedestrian was walking eastbound on C Street north of Fifth Street, and for unknown reasons, walked into the path of the Cadillac which was traveling northbound on C Street. Immediately after the collision, the driver stopped and parked the vehicle along the right side of the roadway. The speed of the vehicle does not appear to be a contributing factor to the collision; however, it was determined the pedestrian had been drinking alcohol.
