    Vehicle Fire Leaves Oxnard Man in Critical Condition

    SUBJECT:    Vehicle Fire Leaves Oxnard Man in Critical Condition

    LOCATION: 105 N. Oxnard Blvd, Oxnard, CA  

    VICTIM:       Thomas Solis, 37 Year Old, Oxnard Resident

                            Juan Cabrales, 55 Year Old, Oxnard Resident

    On November 28, 2021, at about 0059 hours, the Oxnard Police Department, along with Oxnard Fire Department, responded to 105 North Oxnard Boulevard, regarding a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, it was discovered that two males had been seated inside the vehicle when it caught fire. Both parties were able to exit the vehicle as the passenger compartment was overcome by flames. Several people standing nearby ran over to help the two victims as they exited the vehicle.

    The Oxnard Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire. The two victims were transported to the local hospital for further medical treatment. Thomas Solis, an Oxnard resident, was later listed in critical condition. Juan Cabrales, also an Oxnard resident, was listed in stable condition.

    The cause of the fire is not yet known. Investigators are seeking the assistance of anyone that may have seen the fire start or was in the area when this incident occurred. There were several people that assisted the victims as they exited the vehicle. Many of those people left prior to officer arrival and have not yet been identified.
