Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release
On February 22, 2021, at approximately 4:52 PM, Headquarters Investigations Unit and Sheriff’s Gang Unit detectives conducted a probation search of Jose Luis Torres at the Motel 6 located at 2145 E. Harbor Blvd in Ventura. Torres is currently on active Ventura County probation with search terms for a stolen vehicle conviction. Torres’ probation terms prohibit him from possessing weapons, including firearms and ammunition.
Detectives located a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun and a small bag containing live ammunition on Torres’ person. Detectives searched a motel room associated to Torres and contacted Arianna Ceja, who had an outstanding local misdemeanor warrant.
Torres was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail for various firearms violations. His bail was set at $250,000.00 and he is scheduled to appear in Court on February 24, 2021.
Ceja was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail for the warrant and for being under the influence of a controlled substance. She was released from jail with a pending court date of May 25, 2021.
