Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release
On 11-16-2020, at 8:04 A.M., Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the Headquarters Station conducted a traffic enforcement stop of a vehicle driven by (S) James Warwick on the Pacific Coast Highway near Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura. (S) Elisa Callahan was a passenger in the vehicle. Warwick and Callahan were arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of narcotics smoking paraphernalia. The vehicle was searched by deputies and Headquarters Station detectives, which resulted in the recovery of a stolen bicycle from the Thornhill Broom Campground in Malibu, numerous types of burglary tools, approximately 42 grams of methamphetamine, drug sales indicia, and other narcotics paraphernalia.
Warwick was arrested for drug sales and transportation of a controlled substance, being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of burglary tools. Warwick was booked into the Ventura County Jail and his bail was set at $250,000. Warwick is scheduled to appear in Court on 11/18/2020 at 1:30 PM.
Callahan was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Callahan was booked into the Ventura County Jail and subsequently cited and released with a Court date of 1/19/2021 at 8:15 AM.
The stolen bike theft case is still being investigated by Headquarters Station detectives. The Sheriff’s Office encourages beach goers and campers to lock-up valuables to prevent thefts and to call police if theft or suspicious activity is observed.
