Veterans Administration Secretary brags about doing its first abortion: Challenged by Oklahoma Senator

    By Michael Hernandez

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Veteran Administration Secretary Denis McDonough is bragging that they have performed their first abortion this past week.

“Federal law prohibits them (VA) from doing abortion services,” said Oklahoma Senator James Lankford. “President Biden is trying to find every way to do abortions. He wants to increase abortions in America. It’s his obsession. We’re going to have abortions at any single stage and at any time on federal property. Healthcare protects life. Abortions take life.

“There is a child there. Not some children are valuable and other children are disposable. This is not about convenience of adults. Children are not always convenient but they are valuable and important and are to be honored. What are we going to do, to value and honor the life of every child?”

According to Senator Lankford, the U.S. Congress in 1992 passed a reproductive health act that specifically prohibits abortions at Veterans Hospitals which serve 4.7 million military service personnel, their spouses and children.

“We encounter people who are child deniers and will not admit that this is a child in the womb. The VA put out an interim final rule and said we’re doing it and then said we’re taking comments. I am encouraging individuals to file comments to let the VA know from all over the country that here is what we believe not only about following the law but about every single child as well.  We will pray, make comments and do legal challenges because when you break the law you should have legal consequences,” said Senator Lankford.

ACLJ’s Senior Counsel CeCe Heil said, “We will be filing a public comment (before Oct. 11) that the VA lacks the authority to enact or supplant the state abortion rules.” Senator Lankford urged the ACLJ listeners to also make public comments. ACLJ Executive Director Jordan Sekulow said that those comments will be able to be made through in the coming week.
