THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Young Artists Ensemble presents A CHRISTMAS CAROL directed by Georgeanne Lees November 5 – 21, 2021 in the Theatre on the Hill at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 W. Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 pm.

Ebenezer Scrooge is a miser who hates Christmas (and loves only money) until he is visited by spirits who show him the error of his ways in this new version of the timeless Charles Dickens classic. “I first directed A CHRISTMAS CAROL in 1988.  It’s wonderful how perspective changes over the years,” says director Georgeanne Lees. “Through Mark Reyes’ playful yet very accurate adaption of the Charles Dickens tale, our cast of actors will take you on a journey with Ebenezer Scrooge and three Spirits as he transforms from a bitter, elderly miser who shuns humanity and cares only for money, into ‘as good a friend, as good a master, and as good a man as (London) knew.’ Audiences can join in as we sing Christmas Carols, visit with spirits, and delight in the joy of the Holiday Season with this ultimate story of Christmas.”

Young Artists Ensemble is back to live performances, rehearsing under COVID-safe conditions at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts.   Masks must be worn at all times in the theatre and in public areas of the building.  Tickets can be purchase online for $19 for adults and $16 for children, students and seniors. Discount Fridays offer seats at $12. Purchase all tickets online at www.yaeonline.com.  Call (805) 381-2747 or visit www.yaeonline.com if you have any questions.

Young Artists Ensemble has received many accolades in the past 38 years including the Encore Statue Award from the City of Thousand Oaks for Excellence in the Arts, and Best Innovative Program 2011, Large District from the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts. Most recently, it received thirteen wins and thirteen additional nominations for their 2019-2020 Productions.
