Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested in Simi Valley

Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release

On December 19, 2019, at a sober living home in the 3200 block of Wilmont, an altercation between two of the house residents occurred. The altercation began as a verbal argument but quickly escalated when one of the subjects obtained a large kitchen knife and attacked the victim. The suspect, who is a 27-year-old male, stabbed the victim, a 30-year-old male, in the back of the head, neck, and arm. The stabbing caused significant lacerations to the victim.

The victim was transported to the hospital by a friend at which time the hospital advised the Simi Valley Police Department of the assault. Officers responded to the crime scene and obtained witness statements and video evidence. The suspect had fled the scene prior to the police arriving at the crime scene.

On 12/20/19 at about 1530 hours, through the use of several investigative tools, the suspect was located in the San Fernando Valley and arrested for a violation of 664PC / 187PC – Attempted Murder. The suspect was later transported to the Ventura County Main Jail and booked on the listed charge.

Because the suspect and victim were in a sober living home and receiving treatment for substance abuse, their names are being withheld as to not violate their rights under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
