    About Our Teaching Artist:

Mariann Romero was an art teacher at Santa Paula High School for 30 years during which she founded the annual Santa Paula High School Student Art Show. She has exhibited work at the Santa Paula Art Museum, where she frequently volunteers and, as of 2023, is an active board member. Her own artwork includes craft, two-dimensional, and sculptural work, often using gourds as her medium. Romero’s dedication to the arts and support of local youth programs has made her a pillar of the Santa Paula art community.
