Mark’s political activities began in Massachusetts shortly after he first registered to vote at the age of 18, as a Republican. At the University of Massachusetts, Mark was elected President of the College Republicans. During Ronald Reagan’s Presidential campaign, he had the honor of shaking Ronald Regan’s hand at a political rally in Boston. In Amherst, MA, he hosted a talk show on WMUA radio. After graduating college, Mark continued his involvement with the Massachusetts Republican Party and was elected Chairman of the Lexington Republican town committee (similar to the California Central Committees). In 1988, he ran for the State Senate and won the Republican nomination. In the 1990’s, he joined Republican Governor Bill Weld’s administration, managing two state agencies.
Mark began doing political commentary during the 1992 presidential election on “Boston Common”, a Sunday morning news show on WNAC-TV in Boston. He has appeared on the Fox News Channel, MSNBC, and is a frequent guest on radio talk shows throughout the country. As President of the Hollywood Congress of Republicans (2004-2008), Mark worked to build up the membership and to be a force within the Hollywood Community, to counter the ever-prominent “Hollywood Left”. He successfully partnered with the many other Republican groups and organizations in Southern California to promote conservative philosophy and elect Republicans to office. In 2009, Mark was elected Statewide President of the California Congress of Republicans. In Dec. 2010, he was elected 1st Vice Chair of the Los Angeles County Republican Party and in December 2012 he was elected Chairman.
