    Narcotics Arrest of Suspected Dealer

Ventura County Sheriff  – Incident Press Release

On July 15, 2020, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Street Team concluded a narcotics sales investigation involving Eldred Harper of Oxnard, who was involved in the sales of narcotics to residents throughout Ventura County.

In June 2020, detectives obtained information indicating Harper was involved in the sales of narcotics in the City of Oxnard. Detectives conducted surveillance and subsequently obtained a search warrant for Harper’s residence located in the 1500 Block of Graves Avenue in Oxnard.

On July 15, 2020, detectives contacted and detained Harper as he left his residence and served the search warrant. Detectives located and seized approximately 200 grams (about 7 ounces) of methamphetamine, 67 Alprazolam pills (commonly known as Xanax), and money believed to be proceeds from narcotic sales. The Alprazolam was not prescribed to Harper by a medical doctor.

Based on the investigation, Harper was arrested for narcotics sale charges and booked at the Pre- Trial Detention Facility. Harper’s bail was set at $120,000 and is awaiting court proceedings.
