Narrative:
On July 5, 2021, at 2:45 PM, the Port Hueneme Police Dispatch Center received several 911
calls regarding a disturbance taking place in front of 680 Evergreen Lane. As more calls were
received, additional information came in about a subject who was down on the ground
bleeding from an injury.
When officers arrived, they located a male subject suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper
torso. Emergency Medical Services responded and provided medical aid to the victim. The
victim was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center where he was later pronounced
deceased.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim (42-year-old Port Hueneme resident)
was involved in a verbal dispute on the street. During the dispute, the suspect produced a
weapon and shot the victim. The suspect then fled the scene.

I agree tommy. the public has a right to know.this would not happen with OPD. ph seems to sweep things under the rug a little.
I’m gonna presume the suspect fits the description of ‘A person with a gun.’ But holy smokes, Citizens Journal and Port Hueneme Police Department: are there ANY details of the description of the shooter? The shooting was in broad daylight! No mention of an arrest, the shooter is still at large.
