Ventura County Sheriff Department – Incident Press Release
On 02/26/2019, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s West County Narcotic Street Team assisted by the Ventura Combined Agency Team (VCAT), concluded a two month narcotic investigation into the narcotic trafficking activities of Santa Barbara resident Abraham Arellano by executing search warrants on his person, vehicles and residence.
On 2/26/2019 detectives established surveillance on Arellano in the city of Ventura. At approximately 5:15 pm, Arellano was detained during a traffic stop and a search of his person and truck was conducted pursuant to the signed search warrant. During the search detectives located and seized just under a pound of cocaine packaged in various quantities from Arellano’s truck. Also seized from the truck was paraphernalia indicative of cocaine sales. Detectives then executed a search warrant at Arellano’s residence located in the 500 block of West Pueblo Street in the city of Santa Barbara. There detectives seized a large sum of cash which was determined to be proceeds of narcotic sales.
Arellano was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Main Jail for transportation and possession of cocaine for the purposes of sales. Arellano posted bail of $50,000 and his next scheduled court appearance is set for 3/15/19 at 8:15 am in Court Room 12.
The West County Street Team is comprised of Narcotic Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the Oxnard Police Department, and the Port Hueneme Police Department.
