Santa Paula Police Department – Incident Press Release
On Friday, March 13th at approximately 7:19 PM, the Santa Paula Police Department responded to a traffic collision which occurred at the intersection of 4th Street and Main Street. As a result of the collision, one of the vehicles involved lost control and struck a business located at 320 W. Main Street. The impact of the vehicle caused severe damage to the business. Ventura County Fire Urban Search and Rescue responded to remove a damaged section of the building, and checked the structural integrity of the building. The City of Santa Paula Building and Safety also responded to evaluate the damage.
The driver of the vehicle that collided with the building was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for the charge of 23153(a) VC, Driving while Under the Influence Causing Injury. The passenger in the driver’s vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result of the traffic collision and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
A second vehicle was involved in the traffic collision. The vehicle contained a family of four. They were not injured and were seen and released on scene.
