Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
On Wednesday, January 22, 2019, at approximately 6:03 p.m., Simi Valley Police Officers and Ventura County Fire Department personnel responded to Tierra Rejada Road and Stargaze Place after receiving a report of a vehicle versus motorcycle collision.
When the first responders arrived at the scene, they determined the motorcyclist and passenger were injured during the collision. The motorcycle’s driver, a male 30-year-old Moorpark resident, sustained life-threatening injuries and the passenger, female 25-year-old Moorpark resident sustained serious injuries. They were both immediately transported to a local trauma center. The party driving the car was a female 17-year-old Simi Valley resident and she was the sole occupant in the vehicle. She was not injured in the collision and the investigating officers determined that she was not under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
The preliminary investigation revealed the black 2006 Suzuki GSX 600F motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Tierra Rejada Road when the tan 2008 Toyota Camry turned southbound on Stargaze Place in front of the motorcycle causing the collision. The overall cause of the collision has not been determined, but the speed the motorcycle was traveling may be a factor.
