On 09/04/2019 at approximately 1:00 AM, SPPD received a report of shots fired near Palm Ave and Harvard Blvd. While responding to the scene, an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed coming from the area where the shooting was reported. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, however the vehicle continued to drive at a high rate of speed though the nearby residential neighborhood. The vehicle then fled west on Santa Paula St towards the City of Ventura. The officer initiated a pursuit into the City of Ventura. The vehicle stopped in a residential neighborhood and all occupants fled the vehicle. With the assistance of the Ventura Police Department and the Ventura County Sheriff Office, a perimeter was set up and the area was searched. During the search, two of the occupants of the vehicle were located and taken into custody however, were released pending further investigation into their involvement in the shooting. Evidence of a shooting was found in the 400 block of E. Harvard Blvd. There are no known persons hurt as a result of the shooting.
