Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
On May 23, 2020, at approximately 0129 hours, the Simi Valley Police Department responded to a traffic collision located in the area of Los Angeles Avenue, between Angus Avenue and Ralston Street, at the “S” turn. Upon arrival, Officers found that a single motorcyclist had crashed and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Simi Valley Police Department Traffic Bureau responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. Preliminary information established the rider was eastbound on Los Angeles Avenue and failed to negotiate a turn. The rider went off the roadway and struck a railroad crossing arm pole. Witnesses reported the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed before the collision.
The motorcyclist is identified as Libu Babu Jacob, 28 years old, a Simi Valley resident.
