Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
On June 14th at 9:05 PM, a Simi Valley Police Officer was patrolling the area of Erringer Rd and Heywood St. He observed a stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle lost control and crashed, ending up upside down in the intersection of Sycamore Rd. and Fitzgerald St.
The driver of the vehicle, Jack Ballat (18 yrs) was arrested without incident. There was a male juvenile and a dog in the car as well. Fortunately the dog was not injured in the collision. Both of the male occupants were uninjured as well.
The driver, Jack Ballat, was booked in Ventura Jail for driving a stolen vehicle and the pursuit.
