    Thousand Oaks | Suspect Arrested for School Burglary and Thefts from Vehicles

    On May 19, 2020, Thousand Oaks Police School Resource Officer’s responded to a report of a burglary that occurred at Newbury Park High School during the early morning hours. Deputies

    reviewed the school’s surveillance video and identified the suspect as Randall Sellner. Sellner was also identified in a series of thefts from vehicles by a resident’s “Ring” home surveillance video. Deputies arrested Sellner and recovered stolen property at a residence in Thousand Oaks pursuant to a search warrant.

    On May 26, 2020, members of the SRO/Intelligence Led Policing Unit, Thousand Oaks Detective Bureau and the Directed Enforcement Unit served a search warrant at the 3300 block of Lesser Drive in Newbury Park. During the search warrant, Sellner was located and evidence from the Newbury Park High School burglary was recovered. In addition to those items, narcotics and additional evidence linking Sellner to the recent thefts from vehicles were found inside of the residence.

    Sellner was arrested and booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for 459 P.C. Burglary, 530.5

    P.C. Identity Theft, 484(a) P.C. Theft, and sections 11377(a) and 11350(a) of the

    Health & Safety Code – Possession of Controlled Substances.

    The Thousand Oaks Police Department would like to remind the public to keep vehicles locked when unattended and do not leave valuables inside. With schools not in session due to COVID- 19, there have been several burglaries and vandalisms to area schools. If you see suspicions subjects/activity on or near school campuses, especially in the overnight hours, call Sheriff’s Dispatch at (805) 654-9511.
