Dennis Prager: “No God, No Liberty”

    By Michael Hernandez

CHINO HILLS—”When there is no God, there is no wisdom. When there is no God, there is no right or wrong. When there is no God, there is no liberty,” said Dennis Prager, talk show host and writer at the Sept. 19 day-long internet video conference held at Calvary Chino Hills and seen by more than 30,000.

“Los Angeles was founded by people who believed in the Cross. I’m not Christian (Prager is Jewish), but this Cross is my Cross. This is my history. You can’t take away my history. How dare you,” said Prager, who started his presentation by sharing a story of how L.A. County Supervisors removed the Cross from the Los Angeles County logo some 10-15 years ago. “Removal of the Cross is the removal of the religious origins in this country and that means the end of this country.

“What started in L.A. with the removal of the Cross has gone across the country. The New York Times says that America is founded in 1619 and not 1776 because the American Revolution was about keeping slavery.  The American Revolution was religious and liberty based while the French Revolution was secular.”

The Declaration of Independence states: “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights. These Rights cannot be taken away.” However, “if Rights are granted by government, (then they) can be taken away.

“Christianity has a Trinity; so does America. Our past is being erased and the American Trinity is being dissolved: “Liberty,” “In God We Trust,” and “E pluribus unum” (“Out of many, one” which appears on the Great Seal).

“Our founders knew that people are not basically good. They needed to keep a strong God to keep people good. Being answerable to God insured better behavior. God is a protector of liberty.

“Wisdom begins with a fear of God. Secular society produces knowledge but no wisdom. The moral compass of the left is broken. Karl Marx did not believe in any morality. The left represents chaos. What God did was make order out of chaos.”

Most people know Dennis Prager through Prager University which he co-founded in 2009 with Allen Astrin. PragerU creates videos on various political, economic and philosophical topics from a conservative perspective. More than 300 videos have been created and its YouTube channel currently has over 2.1 million subscribers.
